Adulting.Ph is operated by Symph, Inc., a software company based in the Philippines. We provide step-by-step guides and tools to help Filipinos navigate government processes, personal finance, and other "adulting" tasks.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

  • Account information: Email address and display name when you create an account. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email, and profile photo from Google.
  • Profile data: Profile photo (if you upload one), display name changes, and subscription tier.
  • Usage data: Which guides you view, your step-by-step progress, saved guides, and reminders you create.
  • Device data: Browser type, device type, and general location (country level) via standard web analytics.
  • Payment data: If you subscribe to a paid plan, payment is processed by SymphPay. We store your subscription tier and expiry date but do not store credit card numbers.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • Provide and operate the service (guides, reminders, progress tracking).
  • Send email notifications for reminders you set (via Resend).
  • Manage your account, subscription, and badge progression.
  • Improve the service based on aggregate usage patterns.
  • Respond to support requests.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate Adulting.Ph:

  • Firebase (Google): Authentication, database (Firestore), and file storage.
  • Google Cloud Platform: Hosting and infrastructure.
  • Resend: Email delivery for reminder notifications.
  • SymphPay: Payment processing for subscriptions.

Each of these services has its own privacy policy governing how they handle data.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Guide progress is stored locally in your browser (localStorage) and is not synced to our servers. Reminders are stored in our database and can be deleted by you at any time. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data within 30 days.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access and download your personal data.
  • Correct inaccurate information (via your profile page).
  • Delete your account and associated data.
  • Opt out of non-essential emails.

7. Cookies & Local Storage

We use a minimal authentication cookie (auth_token) to maintain your login session. We also use localStorage to save your guide progress and bookmarks locally on your device. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

8. Security

We use industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption, Firebase Authentication, and Firestore security rules to protect your data. However, no method of electronic transmission is 100% secure.

9. Children

Adulting.Ph is designed for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes via email or in-app notification.
